To Beard Or Not To Beard?


So here is me without a beard for the second time in 10 years. I shaved it off Sunday afternoon. Wednesday evening.	The last days of the beard this time.. Just before SantaCon Dec 16th

I just took this one so I had a more light appropriate image - similar light to the bearded shot.

What do you think, Beard or no beard - I like the feel of the beard, and shaving is work. Maybe just a trimmed beard like most people have known me with?

Update:

I cut the beard off the day aftrer Atlanta Santarchy and decided to grow it back on the Solstice. The 21st of December was my last shave and on the 22nd I said it's time to let it grow. Besides It's Unga Bunga John, not Baby Face Unga.

Many references I've found about growing a beard say to not trim until at least a month has gone by. I can see the logic in that. My beard hair is not like my scalp hair in that it is often more coarse and curly than what grows on my noggin'.

My advice to anyone growing a beard and having a tough time getting through the killer itchy phase is to use conditioner on your face like hair conditioner every morning. let it sit on there for about a minute or two and then rinse it off. It'll help soften the hair faster though it will still be hard as wire for about 3 weeks to your mate. Once it begins to lay down and soften you will be much more comfortable and not so scratchy to be around

This is now 30 days and the hair is giving indication of it's preferred directions. I'll trim on Monday morning for work. Today I'll be driving to ATL for Haley and Chw's B-Day/Atlanta Meet&Greet.
